Feeding Bottle / Little Pig-guttus – tintinnabula (drop) – (IV cent. a.C)
For the first time in global merchandise, a unique masterpiece of ancient period is offered in our e shop. It is a called guttus – tintinnabula (drop) and was constructes 2.400 years ago in Manduria (Taranta of Italy) by Mesapians. It was discovered by archeologists in May of 2013 at the same area.

Beside the use of biberon, it was propably used as a toy.

If you can feel all the ancient history of biberon then you could easilly witness the glow of the mother as she stares at the most beautifull child of the world, her’s. The method of construction is ths same for 2.400 years.
Out guttus is constructed by the most capable craftsmen of ceramic in the whole world, respecting totally the infance and the maternity love.

Built by entirely by hand in 2016 in Athens by the world-renowned creator Kotsigiannis.

History of the project
The project found almost intact during the course of work on the Metro opening in Athens
The handle and spout have been mended. Small part of the rim restored. The decoration of the main body is organized in two zones. The back of the handle is decorated with an “hour – glass” motif (mine: Geometric stylised hour glass motif, in black with yellow sand, isolated on a white background)

This unique project was built in 430 workshops e.g. in Athens near Kerameikos in the same area that was constructed and our copy 2016. The 430 broke the plague in Athens which Pericles died. At City was Hippocrates and assistance is important. In the area of the ancient cemetery of Kerameikos, they have discovered a mass grave and almost 1,000 individual graves which date between 430 and 426 BC At the same time and in exactly the same area was constructed and this little item to give life to children
This is a simple and direct bottle construction. Destined poorly homes for babies who have not had the chance to ‘have the riches, as were most indeed.
